Commission for Modern Austrian History

The Commission for Modern Austrian History is one of the oldest independent historic research institutions in Austria.

For more than a century the Commission is active in the field of historic research. The focus is on the edition of primary sources and on accompanying studies.

The Commission’s Veröffentlichungen der Kommission für Neuere Geschichte are one of the most prestigious series in the field of history in Austria. So far, 104 volumes have been published. Next to the results of its own projects, the Commission publishes in its series outstanding monographs and editions in the field of modern Austrian history.
